IISER 2024 Counselling: Withdrawal Process

Below are the guidelines for withdrawing or refunding fees.

  • The application fee is non-refundable.

  • Here is the refund policy for the Seat Acceptance Fee:

  1. By utilizing the "WITHDRAW OFFER" button within the application portal, the candidate can retract their seat/offer. Please be aware that we do not accept any other form or method of withdrawal. We kindly request that you refrain from contacting us via email or phone regarding this matter.

  2. Once a candidate decides to withdraw, their application will no longer be considered for subsequent stages of the admission process. It is important to note that a withdrawn candidate will not have the opportunity to re-enter the admission process, regardless of any circumstances.
  3. There are two important withdrawal dates:
    • Round-wise withdrawal (RW) date, and
    • Final withdrawal (FW) date. RW and FW dates can be found below.
  4. If a candidate withdraws from the counselling process before the RW deadline, then no cancellation fee will be applicable.
  5. If a candidate withdraws after the RW deadline but on or before FW, then the non-refundable amount will be deducted.
  6. If your application is not withdrawn in the manner and within the timeframe mentioned above, IISERs and JAC will not be liable for any losses incurred.
  7. After a candidate withdraws the offer via the counseling portal, the refund will be issued through the original payment channel (credit/debit card, bank account, etc.) used for the SAF payment. These candidates are not required to take any further action for their SAF refund. The refund procedure will commence three weeks after the admission process is finalized.
  8. In case the candidate fails to withdraw by the FW deadline, the SAF will automatically be transferred to the assigned IISER. Subsequent withdrawals will be managed by the respective IISER as per the provided guidelines.
  9. If the candidate fail to physically attend the designated IISER on the joining date mentioned in the offer letter of the respective IISER, the cancellation fee determined by the relevant IISER will be applicable.
  10. Additionally, candidates who have completed the SAF payment but do not appear at the respective IISER by the last date for admission fee payment will not be included in the further stages of the admission process.
  11. If the candidate opts to discontinue their studies after joining a specific IISER, the refund policy of that particular IISER will come into effect. The Seat Acceptance Fee will be transferred to the IISER where the candidate ultimately registers, and the respective IISER will collect any additional fees that may be applicable locally from the candidate upon registration at the specific IISER.
